A disturbing incident has emerged from Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman narrowly escaped death after being assaulted by her brother-in-law and subsequently targeted by her own husband. The victim's ordeal began on April 2 when she was raped by her brother-in-law while her husband was away. Courageously, she confided in her husband upon his return, hoping for support and justice. Instead, he heartlessly disowned her, declaring, "You are no longer my wife. You are my sister-in-law now."
The situation took a terrifying turn the next day when the survivor found herself under attack again. Her husband, accompanied by her brother-in-law, barged into her room, where he attempted to strangle her with her dupatta while the brother-in-law filmed the chilling scene. Prompted by the survivor's bravery in sharing her story on social media, a case has been filed against both perpetrators under sections 376 (rape), 307 (attempt to murder), and 328 of the Indian Penal Code. Superintendent of Police Satyanarayan Prajapati has assured the public that swift action is being taken to apprehend the accused, with investigations ongoing to ensure justice for the survivor.
